September Meeting

Thanks to Hennah and Calvin for coming! We had an interesting discussion on CSS, stylesheets, workflow, and other miscellaneous topics.

In a future meeting, the folks at MadCap have said they can give us a presentation - let me know if there is something in particular you would like to have demonstrated.

I confess - I messed up the WebEx again! So there is no recording this time. I know some of you try to attend remotely, so I will make sure we get it working for the next meeting (which is Oct 19).

August Meeting

Thanks to all who turned out! We had a hilariously good time. Thanks, Peter, for relating your experiences. And thanks, Calvin, for making the trek. And thanks, Laine, for your discoveries with images.

We also enjoyed appetizers from The Cheesecake Factory.

We started the recording about a half hour into the meeting, so didn't catch the best parts! We did catch a discussion about Importing options and a demo on MacCap Central, but it seems only the audio got saved. I think I forgot to share my screen. (You just can't get good help these days!)
Jennifer Morse from MadCap has offered to come speak to us when she is in town, and has also offered to meet with us remotely. We will try to set something up soon.

We decided to move the meeting time back a half hour, since it was a considerable effort for people to make. So next month's meeting with be at 6:30.

We might not all be actively working with Flare right now, but the more support we give the group and each other, then more companies will choose Flare (and wisely so).

July Meeting

We had an interesting and informative meeting this month. Thanks to everyone for your contributions.

New members, Andrew and Peter, attended with enthusiasm.

Calvin showed us the difference between Flare outputs - default HTML5 vs Clean XHTML. Thanks, Calvin.

We played around a little with the Flare interface, learning about Window Layouts, File Tags, and other uses of Conditions.

We also learned about Build Events - a way to automate tasks (such as moving PDF files around) before and after you initiate a Build.

We recorded the meeting on WebEx. (Woohoo!) Here is the link:
